Yip, I'm not explaining myself real well... :P
Just wanted to know if a 223 savage mag has the same external dimensions as a 308 savage mag.
So if you change the bolt face, can you then use the...
Thanks guys.
GM, it will be short action and short action, just not necessarily same "family". So 223 in 308 mag.
Not really looking at putting a short action cartridge into a long action mag.
Two more strange questions.
Does anyone know if the Savage magazines for the 16/Weather Warrior short actions are all the same external dimensions, and just use an internal spacer for different...
interesting responses, tx guys
To me it's at least 2 rifles and 2 different scopes.
Bush/medium must be something you are willing to bash around, with realistic low end magnification, no use lugging a 6-24 around the bush ?

Answered in #22, you want to ask the same question for a fourth time ? Meh
Lets hear your shopping list for bush/medium rifle and a 1000+ rifle then, if you can get that done under $4k ready to...
Doubt if I'd get away with $4k for 2 x tikka t3, threaded, brake for mag (assuming I use my current can on 308), bases, rings, scopes etc.
Maybe you get better discounts than me :D

My initial purchase was for a bush gun, something that is solid, can be bashed around without...
Bill, answer the question mate :D
Do you own one, have you fired one ? I am trying to establish what experience you have with these rifles...
Bill999, have you had a bad experience with a Baikal, do you own one ?
My trigger sorted for less than $50, around 3lb, breaks real nice. Other than a target air rifle with an adjustable trigger,...
yup, aware of the difference, tx
good point
username, I am asking about caliber change without re-barrel, so the start and end caliber needs the same projectile size
for instance 7mm08 to 7mm rem mag or 308 to 300 win mag
tx SA, yup, the other thing obviously is that the barrel is up to the task of handling the new caliber. where I am going with this is making a Baikal IZH18 into 300 win mag :D one stock/receiver with...
Is there an actual measurement that distinguishes between long and short actions, or does it differ from manufacturer to manufacturer ?
Is it possible to use "short action" cartridge in a long...
