Or.... you weren't happening to be spotlighting or night shooting? Very easy to assume misses at night depending on terrain. It has happened to me very recently
If the story is as you say I find it hard to believe you could possibly *bump* the scope out of alignment considering the quality of scope and rifle.
It's either you aren't a very good shot or...
