    Gun bluing

    Just wondering if anyone does their own gun bluing and if so what do they use and what is the process.

    While we are on this one... what are the other options and costs? Mine needs doing and am not shore which way to go.

    I did an old rifle a few years back, it was 'cold blueing' and was ok, but didn't last very long. Sorry I can't remember what it was called but wasn't expensive.
    I believe it is best to 'hot blue' and I'm not sure if anyone can do it.

    Where's R93 he was talking about doing something similar like cerakote or .............

    ive used cold blueing g96 or something like that its ok for touching up eg if you do a recrown
