    Help Wanted Reg : Stirling Model 1500 .22Mag

    Hi there was just after a couple of thoughts of the Stirling Model 1500 .22Mag ... any any other options you would recommend over it for around similar price range sec/hand or new ...

    Looking at this ..any good? Stirling Model 1500 .22 Magnum | Trade Me
    Would be local pick up for me and also comes with scope and some rounds ...

    They're good. I'm sure there's better, but I'm using mine after 20 odd years. Just picked up a 2nd mag for it.

    mine was one of the worst shooting rifles iv ever had, seriously innacurate
    with multiple brands of ammo
    best was highland at 4-5 inches at 50m

    Are you set on a .22 magnum?
    As plenty of better rifles around, in either .22LR, 17HMR or even getting a centrefire in .223.

    Already have couple .22lr and got a .22mag and .223 .. just wanted opinion of the make/model I posted ... always been interested in getting 17 ... Somebody could sway me in that direction...

    I have some very fond memories of time with an older stirling 22 mag. Think they may have judt been a 15 then not a 1500 but i was more concerned with shooting with it than reading its numbers so could be wrong. It shot very well and i enjoued carrying it around.

    I've only had the M20 semi in .22LR
    As others have mentioned, they are pretty basic.

    Mine was lucky to shoot within 4" circle at 50, sprayed like a shot gun really.

    Should have added i later had a stainless 1500 that put shots through same hole. Put suppressor, bipod etc on it then sold it. The newer ones are pretty basic and wood is of similar ilk to the norincos once you undress them. Wouldnt pay too much more for that one listed than what its currently at

    350 new from gc (not that im a fan of them) 22 Mag Stirling M1500 Blue Wood Threadedt

    Some of the older ones had much nicer stocks with cheek welds and ebony caps etc.
