    6.5/284 really needs at least a medium length action to get the best out of it with heavy for caliber bullets.

    I have run lapua and norma 6.5/284 brass in another wildcat and the norma brass is softer in the head.

    I run my converted Savage Model 16 as a "two shot repeater" , it'll fit one in the magazine at over 3" COAL so if the first one misses (again haha) then a quick followup is possible
