Well since nobody else bit, I would try the 140gr Berger VLD, with 2206H

You're asking a lot for a 16" barrel to go out to 500 yards. I have 3 accurate loads with a 7/08 at 16" 120 sst 44 grains of 2208, Speer 130's 41 grains of 2206h, Speer 145 48 grains of 2209. I really cant see these being used beyond 300 yards. I'm going to try 120 Barnes next but as Beaver says a hot load behind a Berger may do the trick.

    120gr BT?

    I'm pushing the 140gr @ 2740fps in a 20" tube - more than enough out to 500 yards.

120 bt would be my pick. Should be able to get 2900fps or close to it and they're ment to be a harder bullet than the 140 believe it or not.

Yeah I agree if you can get those speeds but out of a 16" barrel. Popshot is talking 20 " and what barrel length is yours Cartman. I'm hoping to get some chrono speeds this week with the 120's out of a 16" Mod 7.

Not chroned yet but my 150's are doing 2560 so maybe 2700 will let you know but sighted in 2" high at 100 no problems hitting the gong at 300 start to drop off quickly past 350 though.
