Have come across a tidy Winchester mod 70 all weather which I don't tend to see often anymore

who has one and what do you think of them? looks really handy

    On the "Plus"side:

    Very well made
    Bell & Carlsen stock
Everything made of stainless (no plastic here)
    They shoot cloverleafs....
For all the talk of mods available for alternative rifles - they don't need modification.....

    Negatives:
    Heavy compared to a Tikka
Not as many aftermarket options for stocks etc (think Rem 500 & Tikka mods)

All comes down to fit and feel - which is entirely subjective.

Allways had an eye on one. Classic rifles with Three position safety. If it shoots straight go for it!

You didn't state what caliber but thats irrelevant probably. I may be biased, being the owner of a few Winchesters, but I say buy it. They are good honest rifles and generally don't need 'dicking around' with. Far more soul than a plastic Tikka and I say that having owned/used them, older Tikkas differant story.
