Contacted Amanda at Maxtoch who says their old version of the H01 is out of stock, and the updated version is still undergoing testing - so at this stage she can't give any estimate on when it will be available.

Anything that uses a seperate battery pack is vunerable to dieing due to the wires that run between the bulb and battery pack breaking.

So like Robojaz said - Zebralight

Very happy with my Black Diamond Revolt, small compact with plenty of power and life. Charges via USB too.

Just been looking for a decent headlamp for work. Went through two LED lenser h7s in the last few years ( wires kept breaking). Good lights but way overpriced and over rated for what they are. Liked the look of the Nitecore HC30, but in the end bought a Fenix HL60r. It came with an 18650 battery, is rechargeable via usb, and was less than $100NZ delivered thanks to a cyber Monday promo on the Fenix website.

It is heavier than the led lenser, but max output is nearly 4x greater. 5 year warranty too which is pretty neat.
