@Dundee have you thought about changing over to a single hook instead of treble for ease of release? I've switched over a few to no detriment as I see my stash of Blue Fox have both hooks in the packet, so I thought I would give it ago.

Treble hooks, it `s effective...just it was difficult to unhook without tools

Re: Lake Rotoiti. We got a few more big fish. Quality of fish is amazing. Fat, slow and stuffed to the hilt with smelt. Streaks of fat running through the pink fillets like farmed salmon. I've said before that I'm not a fan of eating trout and neither was anyone in our party. We started off smoking it, then we cooked it as you would salmon and ended up eating it raw! What a top class fishery.

Still got the worst catch and release technique on the internet. You should have kept it as its likely dead anyway.
The range of what we think and do is limited by what we fail to notice. And because we fail to notice that we fail to notice, there is little we can do to change; until we notice how failing to notice shapes our thoughts and deeds

Caught 2 Browns in the last two days, one spinning, one on the fly. Third and first cast respectfully. Upper Clutha seems quite active at the moment.

Usually, Mr. Dundee, how you cook your catch? Smoke, pan fry, wet aged with herbs, eat it raw?

Putting last weeks drama behind us, mate and I set off on another night mission all kitted out with new wading belts thanks to forum good bugger @buzzman
Was super dark and really mild making for good fishing. We hooked 14 and landed 7 - getting delt to on several occassions with fiesty fish that had no intention of surrendering.
Of the 4 I landed were 2 nice browns
