Your right Greg the speer has a shit BC but its a proven game getter - deer, goats. The 75grn A-max might have a flash BC but I know which bullet id rather have for game, Although the 75grn a-max would be good for putting holes in rabbits and paper .

Just to possibly clear a couple of things up, here is a picture of a few rounds next to the 22 Terminator

    17 HMR-17 Vmax, 222-50 SP, 223-53 Vmax, 22 Terminator-75 Amax, 22-250-50 Vmax & 243-80 GMX.

Possibly if you want to think of it that way, but what real difference does that make ?

I like to think of it this way, not that it matters at all

The 222 Rem mag has a longer neck & different shoulder angle resulting in a smaller case capacity & therefore less performance.

The 222 Rem mag is the parent case for the 204 but that is where the similarities end.

If the 222 Rem mag had the same performance as this the 223 would have been dead in the water......

The price for the non-suppressed one is $2280 inc GST.

The suppressed one is $2680 inc GST.

This includes fluted bolt & barrel, alloy rail, load development, 100 Norma brass & all freight.

    Dies are $150

All the machining on all the rifles I sell is done by professional gunsmiths during normal working hours, with their own reputations & businesses at stake.

    Here is another 22 Terminator.

It happened by accident really, the barrel decided it hurt to much being fluted & tried to escape during one of the last flutes

So it got the flutes profiled off, it was going to be replaced with a Trueflite at the Gunsmiths cost but I thought about it for a while & decided to try it.

It is 19" long & pushes the 70grain GMXs out at 3250-75 fps.

With the little Leupy FX2 it only weighs 2.435kg/5.36lbs

I want to take it out after a Fallow, the GMX at that speed has enough grunt to give anything a hurry up

That would be ever more devastating running Barnes in 53,55 or 62gr.They seem to like a quick train to board.

...except that .222 Rem Mag doesn't fit so well in the AR15/M16 magwell, which was largely why .223/5.56 became so popular...

Yep the 223 is a good length & the M16 was built around it I guess.

The 222 Rem mag came out in 1958 & the 223 in 1964 if my googlefu is working today

Back then the twist rates nobbled quite a few cases, the 244/6mm Remington springs to mind, just like most of the 22-250s today with a 1-14

If only the AR15 magwell would fit the .222RM case comfortably. Another 1cm of length in there would make it so much better.
