Used a toastie iron on many a fly in trip. Essential part of the cookware...always the same-ol'same-ol' spag, prairie nuts, cheese, eggs, bacon, onion, mince and in any combination of them.
Which is worse, ignorance or apathy...I don't know and don't care.

mix the egg in a glass, put on both insides of bread, let soak in. kind of egg bread, cooks evenly well. my favourite thing to do.

Best tasting would have to be the camp toastie
In a frying pan, salami and cheese with tomato sauce to taste (must be Watties, no substitute) over a low heat on the burner. By the time both sides are cooked to golden perfection, the cheese is just starting to run out the sides.
Best served on a shitty day when getting back to the camp/hut. 2nd best served on a beautiful day when getting back to the camp/hut.
For some reason they aren't the same when you get home and try to impress the mrs

Ham, cheese and tomato. Occasionally a cremestylr sweet corn.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!
