    Darwin candidate?

I have just been reading through various reviews make of scope, and came across the following on a shooters forum

" I really like my xxxxx scope, it only took me 4 shots to zero my rifle, and the first two of those was to clear the oil from the barrel"

So you reckon there would still be oil in it after a couple of shots?

Dont think there will be much in the rifle, but between the ears there seems to be quite the reservoir still......

Well where does the smoke come from when I fire my BP rifle? Gotta stop putting 3in1 down the tube?

I do, all the time, not on all just those that are not going to be used for awhile, I have a note taped to the inside of my Cabinet reminding me to wipe the oil out before firing.

Do you give people this advice at HnF? "Yeah mate, just put a shot through it to clear the oil out!"

To qualify for a Darwin Award you need to either kill yourself, or render yourself unable to reproduce. So they can't be a candidate...yet.

Iv got a mate a bit like that. I'm not sure if it's being lazy or just knows no better, iv tried to educate him.
You can shoot over a light lube (not 30/40), rust preventative, maybe he just calls it oil.
