I was running W760 over 87 gr HPBT out of an 18" barrel 243. My mates all complained about the muzzle blast and at dusk i would do in everyone night vision with a 3 ft long flash. Ended up with a 20" barrel and a moderator as the 18" one would not shoot. (done too much work, crown and bore damage) This was before I had a Crony so no idea on velocity. Out to 150 mtr nothing would notice a 300 fps loss of velocity.

NB. this muzzle blast was a significant factor in pushing me to develop a Trail boss load using 58 gr Vmax for short range goats etc. (Lever action)
At 22 Hornet type velocities they mushroom nicely (without blowing up) leaving an 1" exit hole and 5 dead goats for 5 rounds as the herd runs past me in the tea tree.
