Sounds like a typical hunting trip !

I don't think I had a 243 long enough to call it a pet but target/2208 and IMR4064 worked really well with 90 to 105 grain bullets. Plenty of pace from a 20 inch barrel and very consistent, single figure es with some combs.

Been playing with an old TikkaT3 in 243, originally only used with factory ammo, but thought I’d try some reloading based on RL17 & 2209.
    103gn ELDX with 43.8gn 2209 giving 3070fps and around 0.5-0.6moa grp.
    95gn NBTs doing 3200fps with RL17 and 0.3moa grp.

How many loads to work that out. You go up .1 each time?

What twist barrel is on your T3? Looks to shoot the 103 eld x really well. It’s a shame only the 6mm creedmoor has it as a factory option

My new pet is the 108 ELD-M pushed by 41.5gns of AR2209. MV 2900. Still early days hunting wise.
Experience. What you get just after you needed it.

I mean, 44.2 looks pretty good if you pulled #3.

but then 43.8 fits neatly inside 44.2...

Some good shooting. When I had a 243 (had it for a long time) I used 85 sierra hpbt. I think it was 43-44 grains 2209. Very accurate and good killer. Also had a dabble with the100 grain pro hunter. Killed well and didn’t seem to damage as much of the shoulder.

pretty happy thus far, going to try again tomorrow,
1-10 twist so limited to about 100gr.

Very interested in your results mate, as just received my k95 in .243 . Just got some factory 95 sst to try and shoots them very well.
Are we sure that tikka is a 1-10 as would love to try the 103s?

@Tahr I seem to have misplaced my reloading data for 95grn Targex. Can you pls remind me of Starting and Max load? Also if you have the BC.
