Thread: .270 cal questions

When I was using factory ammo in my Tikka T3 .270 I ran Fed Powershok 130gr (Blue box) exclusively. Was getting consistent 0.5" groups at 100yds and never lost an animal. Only down side is that they dropped like a brick past 300yds due to poor BC. As others have said, definately a good place to start though, but try a few other types of ammo also to see what your rifle likes. Keep away from the SST's as they are too explosive for the speeds a .270 pushes them.

I now run 130gr Accubonds going 3060fps with x amount of AR2209 and everything shot with them goes straight down. Also had very good success with 130gr Gamekings and RL-22.
