300 blackout and 110 cx and projectile recommendations for subs

Has anyone compared the 110cx to the 110 tac Barnes
Or tried the 110cx out if so how did they go

What sub projectile recommendations for deer ones I was using were a 210 grn
Lead hollow point but guy who was making them had a stroke
And his Mold is no longer in production
Projectile was almost straight wall with a 4mm hole that was pretty
    Deep

Any recommendations for a projectile around the same weight

Most copper bullets, including the 110 CX and the Barnes, are designed to go fast. Both bullets are ideal in a Blackout but with an MV of around 2000fps.

For subs, I would be running something in the 190-220gr, and with a lead core or lead. The exception would be if the copper was specifically designed to be shot at subsonic speeds like some of the Makers for example.

Remember, energy kills. So if you limit your MV to 1050 (subsonic), the only other option to increase energy to to increase bullet mass, therefore, a heavy bullet is the answer.

The 110 tac projectile is the wee black tipped one specifically designed for the blackout
Was curious if some one had compared the 110 cx to them
Had great results with the Barnes but getting very thin on the ground plus
    Very expensive
Ordered a packet of the hornady 110 cx to try in some ballistics gel
So will be able to compare them over Xmas hopefully

Get what you mean with the subs was hoping some one out there was possibly casting heavy hollow point
Lead pills or could recommend a mold and projecitle design that works well
I have had the best results with softer lead powder coated hollow points
Just can’t get the ones I was running anymore and Mold is obsolete

I believe Barnes make a specific 110gn bullet for 300BLK that expands better at the lower 300BLK velocities
    These ones

I have the Barnes TAC TX 110 & 120 in stock as well as the 130 TTSX etc

For decent subsonic terminal performance the purpose built lathe turned copper projectiles are the only way forward, Lehigh, Maker etc

Not cheap but way more game on the ground quickly & less tracking

I also have some Lehighs & Makers in stock
