If it's the Sierra 300gr it's way too soft for that application. If it was me I would buy a couple of boxes of ammo over there. You can get all sorts of stuff that is more suitable. I wouldn't muck around loading for bear with what is available here. There is the school of thought that says if a bear attacks from cover you will never bring a handgun let alone a rifle up in time.
