    Hi All ,
I was running one of these in 6.5-284!!

    A RPA acton with a Border 26 inch / 1 in 8.5 twist / Border barrel..
Bullets wise , i tried the 140 A-max / 139 scenar / 142 sierra / 140 Berger VLDs - all shot very well but i stuck to the 140 A-max because of good accuracy and expansion!!
    Powders i tried was H4831SC , Viht N165 , Reloader 22 , H1000 - stuck to H4831SC as it worked well with my rifle!!
So the load i ended up with was 50 grains of H4831SC with the 140 A-max touching the lands.
This would give me 2800fps and if i went a half a grain up , i would get a sticky bolt showing pressure signs!!
Heres one of the groups from long range testing!!

Now heres a funny thing ,
    I now run a Tikka T3 semi custom in 6.5-55 Improved with a 24 inch ( 1 in 8 twist ) Krieger tube.

When load developing with the Berger 140 grainers and Viht 160 i was able to get 2900fps!!
But now have settled for the 123 A-max

Rayzor, very nice bits of kit !

Abe, speeds are fine, at 2800+, but groups all over the place. I think new brass will make the difference as the 'feel' through the dies and seaters differs quite a bit. I strongly suspect the brass might have come from another rifle, or it's been well stretched. Some of the pre loaded rounds had to go through the body die before they would chamber !

Will be good to see if nice new softer brass help red, neck tension might could be uneven through out the brass you have?

It looks like it's sorted now Red

I found a load it likes, with good speed out of the Norma brass

Not to bad for gusting 3-7 mph wind, hole at the bottom is the first shot that didn't fall where I thought it would so I moved up a target dot.
