What Pommy said. ADI BM2 or IMR 8208 XBR. You should get 2800-2900 out of 20" with Speer 90gr TNT depending on accuracy node.

They kill stuff and make a mess. I was shooting them with quite low MV out of an AR and it was 50/50 killing goats whether they dropped on the spot or kept going. All shots taken from 200-600m. Only shot one deer with them and it ran quite far, even though it train wrecked the front end and exited.

Ive been getting wicked results with 120 eldm behind 8208 (29.5 grains) Half inch groups at 100 all day. Sporter barrel howa mini cut down to 18" with a dpt can. My labradar shit itself so no velocity data.

Anyone tried the Barnes TTXS BT 120gr?
Noting that Barnes website has faster velocities using CFE 223 with this projectile.

The Factory Hornady Black 123gr ELD-M's have been working well, but only had opportunities at around the 100m mark, haven't had a chance to stretch it, on game yet.

Heart Shot a Goat, it swayed but didn't run, had another run out to see what happened, Neck shot that one, they both dropped in tandem. Couple of days later, dropped a Fellow Spiker with a High Shoulder / Spine shot.

Currently collecting all my Hornady Cases, and wanting to give the Barnes 120gr a go.

thought id add to this instead of starting a new thread. Ok i know you good people have pointed out the go to powders to use but ive seen people using win 748 in the grendel anyone tried or know if its worth a try with 85gr sierra hp as ive got some here i havnt used in anything else yet. Also as theres no data for it on the hodgen site how would one go about figuring out a starting load to work up from?

thanks for that so it looks like cfe is a bit slower than w748. 748 might go ok then ill try it this weekend.

Well 85gr sierra hp and win 748 appears to be accurate enough clean barrel took 5 shots to settle then shot a 5 shot group at 100m it was 10mm ctc. So accurate enough ill load up some more and chrony them..

    Hey Guys,

Got my hands on some Sierra 85gr HP's, does anyone have a starting point for these with BM2?

    Cheers,

    Adam
