    6.5 Grendel velocity

What velocity are people getting with 123gr pills.
    I'm getting 2450 with 27.5gr 8208 out of a 20" bbl.
I might push it a bit further but can certainly notice the change in primers and occasional ejector marks. No other signs easy bolt lift

That's about as good as you will get with that powder. You can push harder with CFE223 or Lever Evolution

Been tempted to handload a few times, but if it aint broke I wont fix it.

Sounds about right. I could get the same speed with a 130gr bullet from the same length barrel with 2206h. Never any ejector marks on mine though. However I found they weren't particularly emphatic at such low speeds unless you were really close, so I've always stuck to lighter bullets since.

I’ve heard that 2700 is possible from a 24” tube but I’ve never experienced that myself
Like you i have a 20” and running a 120 speer gold dot @2500 ish with a very stout charge of cfe223 (dicked with load very slightly since i last checked it shoots good I could probably get a bit more out of it but 1/2”@100 is a cracking hunting load which I what it’s for not interested in target shooting with modern bolt action rifles they don’t make enough smoke…..
Grabbed some leverevolution to try aswell as im told its even better than cfe223 for velocity

Sweet thanks guys. Sounds like I have most of what I would get out of it. Will keep an eye out for cfe223 or even 2206 as that will also work in my o8 with lighter pills

2206H won't be great in a Grendel with 123's, will fill the case too quick. 8208 has close to the same burn rate with better kernel size for the small case.

8208 is as good as it gets in the Grendel for accuracy and the speed you have. CFE223 is what I started with and moved to 8208 on recommendation, best choice as its not a hotrod round and be happy.

With 85 gr hammer projectiles you would have a speed machine, no trouble to hit 3100 or 90 gr at 3000fps.

Yep have a couple of boxes of tnt 90gr to load up.
Well if it ain't broke fix it.
Loaded up a few rounds as per usual. Havent shot a centrefire in a number of months. First 2shots almost touching inch high and left of centre at 371yds then 1 shot at 458yds that rung the gong.

Yup maybe a little faster. The big difference is bullet shape
