Body finally upto it I got ahold of some 129 interlock and loaded up 3 of each with 2209 @ 42,43 and 44gr and with 2213sc @ 46,47 and 48gr all loaded 20thou off the lands.
Hornady brass, fed large rifle primer.

    129 interlock vs 153 Atip.

On a very wobbely bench my heart beat was making me wobble just over a dot width horizontalaly.

I didnt shoot the top load for either powder for groups as I was happy enough with the first two 2209 groups considering.
So I shot one of each over a very haphazardly set up shooting chrony just for an indication.

    48gr 2213sc = 2641fps
    44gr 2209 = 2600fps
    From 22" barrel.

Recoil was very noticeably less than the 153atip at just shy of 3k.

2213sc groups were a bit disadvantaged as they were the last I shot and I was dealing with quite a lot of pain by then however every other group I shot even with the 223 was spread horizontaly and the first group has a lot of virticle spread.

I took the 223 as a control as it will constantly shoot under half moa cloverleafs with a vmax load but I was spreading them horizontaly as well.

Gonna load up more 2209 at 42-43 gr and confirm grouping and get a better velocity measure but pretty much calling it good enough for the boy.
    nor-west and 25 /08 IMP like this.
