My nephew and his mate whacked out 700 lambs each a couple months ago.
Good shed shearers back on the job the next day.
So I guess they show a bit of attention to the detail.

I found this one I did late last century. Very close to 7mm.

I think they did it at Kiwitahi on Poihipi road out of Taupo.
Haven't seen them as they were flat out then lockdown.

It was around then they put Poihipi road through.
One cutting had heaps of obsidian.
They are still getting it out.
We used to go out through Waipapa block,Mokai then Forest road through Oruanui to Taupo before that.

I made up the numbers dagging at Tiroa block for a couple of years when your father was the manager.

Yes mighty Maurice. He wasn’t a bad fella. He took me out for a couple of deer stalks in North Block when I was 13 or so.

Worked on Tiroa for 6 years myself. General hand though to head shepherd. Also did a stint of fencing prior to that.

Not quite right with Wharekiri Jeff, close though . Paul Leedum was manager then..?

We took over some of Wharekiri’s sheep when it was split between Tiroa and Waipa. Yes, great shearing sheep apparently but would clip a kg lighter than Tiroas. They used to supply sheep for the Te Kuiti Shears using rams from Robin Fagan....

This is a 30 cal 150 grain Boat Tail Spire Point Interlock 1980's era. Traveling about 2800fps. Went through the shoulders of a 95 kg Red spiker. Retained weight 130 grains.
