    advise please

right i know this ig going to open a whole new can of worms but i am stuck between a 7mm08 and a 308 i no they are almost identical rounds but is it true that a 7mm08 has a higher chance of deflecting off scrub than a 308 as the reason im asking is cause im going to be going in a putting my 1st center-fire on lay buy this week all going well

Either will be fine, there is no such thing as a "brush buster" and shooting through scrub should be avoided. There will not be much difference between the two, both will deflect.

    Both will do the job.
.308 prob has a wider choice of factory ammo.

7mm-08 will come in handy if you ever move up the Great South Road to Auckland.

I see you are putting on lay buy so cost is obviously a factor so .308 will be cheaper to shoot if you don't reload as you can get cheap steel cased ammo for it which means you will shoot it more and this will allow you to get to know your rifle better and make you a better shot/hunter.

Nothing wrong with a 7mm-08 as a calibre though.

    Hope this helps!

Buy what ever spins your wheels the most.

Either will kill every species of animal in this country from up close to way out yonder.

The hardest part is finding them ... shooting them is easy.

You can buy barnaul etc steel cased stuff cheaper for practice for the. 308 that is way cheaper, the brand stuff like hornady and federal costs the same for both.

I'd go 308 as the steel Barnual is cheap as.

RODSTA read my lips as I say this. Just buy the fucking rifle you want. If you end up not liking it then you can give it to me and buy the other bugger.
