I’d hazard a guess most 280ai would be 9-9.5 and most shoot the 180eldm well
It wouldn’t hurt to stick with the Nosler 140BT.
Send them to the chiller
A big fast bullet beats a little fast bullet every time
Can you not get the nosler 150gr ballistic tip any more.
They use to be all the go with 280imp/ rem mag loads.
My mate used them until the A-Max craze, with 100% satisfaction
You can still get them, and a 160BT
The amax craze is still going as there’s an insane amount of them tucked away in enthusiasts cupboards, and the eldm is a continuation of the same
From memory the rem mag holds 84g of water and the PRC holds 80g, which is why the rem mag isn’t leaving anytime soon

280AI pretty similar to my favourite 284
I’ve found 162ELDX perfect near and far but changed recently to 140BTs to try something different. I posted a thread with 140 Accubonds to try and dual load and they shot to same POI. You could copy that or stick with the 162ELDs you have loaded up.
I like the 7mm and case capacity of 284/280 (and similar to 6.5PRC) as a good balance of hitting power vs recoil.
I have a couple of 280AIs. Getting excellent results with two combinations.
165g TGK with Reloader 23 in a 26 inch barrel.
150g TGK with Reloader 19 in a 20 inch barrel.
Getting very good numbers with Peterson brass. Nothing has got back up again.
I use a 145 bt in my handloada. Hits perfect and super accurate. I also like the price of them, when hunting goats.
