Hammer Absolute Hammers - The speed hype appears to be real

First test with absolute hammers in my 6.5 Creedmoor for anyone thats interested / been looking at the hammer projectiles.

Tikka T3X 24 Inch 1/8 Twist - Brand new so may speed up?
    97gr Absolute Hammer
    Lapua Brass
    FED210M

Started at 41gr & run up to 44.5gr 2206h - Just under 3500fps & no pressure signs yet, 44.5gr was a .7 MOA group at the seating depth i picked to start a speed test with so no doubt will tighten up by playing with seating depths next time at the range.

Pretty impressive speed, with hammers estimated G7 BC of .166 thats 1000ftlb/2100fps @ 500yd & 1800fps (hammers stated reliable expansion threshold) out to just under 650 yards. Cool!

Is that LRP brass given you're using a 210 primer? Do you have any other powders to try with them?

I'm going to use Lapua SRP brass with a 450 or a 205GM with the 109 Absolutes. Will report results when I have them - need the reloading bench to be functional first!

Those 6 rounds got an average of 3673 fps with an ES of 9. About a 0.7" group.

Must be the wide angle lens.

I was more impressed that a 22-250 ai ate Rl26.
Guessing it's the heavier pill but my last 22-250 ate cfe223 with good results which is a lot faster burning but with a 55 grain pill

One bullet was seated about 10 thou deeper than the others. And yes, the cases do come out slightly different lengths from fireforming. And my preference is to leave the necks as long as possible. So the shorter ones still need to grow out a touch. And that might take a while since AI cases hardly stretch... But whatever. It doesn't seem to care.
