DOC Hunting Permits - appears off line currently?

I thought i had updated my permit online from their site 2 days ago. Never arrived to my email. Attempted tonight - said 'site error'?

Any others noticed this? Guessing some IT work going on behind the scenes?

I have reapplied to my work address tonight, seemed to go through. Agree no compliance on permits that i have heard of but then again i don't wish to be the first victim if something goes peer shaped. My firearms license is worth 'gold', why put it at risk for such a simple thing. Not like a fresh water fishing license - funny how the courts see such seriousness when a firearm not involved. Go figure.

Yes been asked for my hunting permit by DOC ranger at a hut. No idea what would've happened if I hadn't had it. He was pretty friendly.

Been asked once for my Permit at Ngawapurua Hut, Kawekas early 90's. Said he was a Ranger but couldn't prove it and with his attitude I had my doubts. No ID no permit, quid-pro-quo and on his way he went.

Wasn't aware DOC had plain clothes operatives. Definitely a tugboat trying it on., I'd say.

The only time I’ve met one was in the 70’s - just after I’d landed a 6lb brownie- and hadn’t bought a licence!
Managed to bs my way out by agreeing to buy a licence
That’s the kind of luck I have when it comes to breaking the ‘rules’
