    Rice load?

    Went to pull apart a couple of 12g shells that had intact primers but felt ‘empty’.
    On opening the crimp I discovered they were loaded with rice!

    Can’t remember where/when I got hold of these shells.

    Apart from discouraging stray dog or similar I can’t think of any reason for a rice load.

    Any speculation from you lot on here as to their purpose?

    any powder??? if not possibly for dummy rounds,but weird to have a live primer...could be rat/sparrow loads for inside a barn perhaps??

    Still had powder, greeny flakes. (Which burned well!)

    Used for seeding gardens - fire in the general direction, water it a few times and wallah......you have a rice paddy.
