Sa 7 saum with 175-180g pills

Just wondering if anyone has real world results with the 175-180 grain projectiles in a short action 7mm saum. Have rl26 and 2217 powder. Currently shooting 162eldx at 2960

While it’s always fun to play with new pills & powder combo’s, my personal experience says that the 160-168gn pills are the sweet spot for the SAUM and similar case capacity 7mms. There’s nothing much to gain in going to 180’s. Especially if you’re running a short or shortish bbl

When I say snots I mean its smacking everything over alot better 100% bangfloops so far less frop and drift not that drop matters and a good amount more energy at 500 which is my long range . The 160s are also brilliant but for me im seeing the benefits of the 180s

Has anyone tried these bigger projectiles at a stump 2.820OAL or similar?

Im happy with 162gr weight, and like mag fit (im limited in a model 7), but never hurts to have back burner projects so to speak. I have rl26 to try, wondering if a 180 going that bit slower has abit more further out to give. Definately no issue with 162gr!

I ran the 180 eldm in a short action. 2.950” oal and 55gr of 2209. 2800 fps and it was an absolute hammer. It could have gone faster but the Bertram brass was my concern. That was a 24” barrel
