Thread: Sighting in a rifle on a short range

Sighting in a rifle with VERY limited range available where I live

I want to know is there a formula for sighting in a rifle at say 40m or less or maybe at a stretch out to 60m
I have the following to shoot in want accuracy out to 300m

7mmWSM
Roberts 257

I imagine the bullet type/weight/load etc will have some bearing on this but I do not want target accuracy just shoulder shooting most likely no further than 150 - maybe out to 300 occasionally.
So - I am thinking with a 222 for example if its 1" low at 50m it will be still rising and hit line of sight at say 150m and be low by 3-5" at 300m, but I am only guessing
