Got a new paddock to shoot that was previously not available due to the stock that was on it.
Stopped at 12, as it was a solid walk back with that many in the pack.

At a couple of kgs each the weight soon adds up.
After sighting in my 28 nosler I managed to nail a magpie at 338meters . Super happy with that build.
Bloody hell @Gibo your daughter is a great shot, and better looking than you but what the fuck a tree stand to shoot wabbits.ha ha ha
Second Rook in a week! Managed to get this one on camera. Rifle is a .25 cal Uragan 2 running about 55fpe. POI at this range is about 3/4" above POA which explains the slight hold under. The Rook only made it a few meters out of frame before it realized it was dead.

I may have to join in this pest eradication game as I went down to my range this afternoon to do a bit of maintenance and fuck me dead I opened the gate to see a fucking rabbit down there. That is just tempting fate but I was only armed with a battery powered drill at the time. Note to self, take a .22 with you next time Rushy.
Set traps in the dark last night, under the influence and SNAP! Blood blister on the finger for a lil bit of furr this morning.

Busy hour out on an orchard tonight with the 25cal pcp. Don't know why but they all seemed really relaxed and not bothered by me tonight, found it easy to spot then on the thermal, walk up to about 50m, get comfortable down onto the bipod, hit record, check focus and let the shot off at my leisure. Normally as soon as you take a step towards them the scarper off. Weather was a little windy but warm, clear skies but no moon. Odd behavior. These were the ones I could be bothered picking up, rest were left for the Hawks

Yeah, the rabbits around the farm have been acting dumb for the last few evenings. Usually they scarper pronto. Last couple of days they have either just looked at me, went back to feeding or froze. All three actions were the wrong ones...
Good hunting and nice PCP hardware Mintie. Are they easy to obtain in NZ? Do you use slugs or pellets?
One of the goats from this week. It had a large flesh wound in the top of its neck which looked fairly recent. The 52gn Targes sorted it out.

A cat has been showing up on our game camera at home so this morning, after sighting in a load for the new 223, I got out between showers to get some bait..

Abit of a mixed bag. 4 chooks,2 bunnies, 2 pigeons and a seagull with the ‘in progress’ JW15. Thrown a VX1 3-9x40 Rimfire on it. Trigger had some work, and is turning into the one I reach for.
Bloody hell! I never knew they had Armadillos down the west coast.
Thats spelt dildo there
I'm told that Armadillos are quite good eating, roll 'em up in a ball of clay and leave 'em in the fire for an afternoon. Break open the ball and pick out the meat.
This is the same method used for hedgehogs.
Up til I found out that they carry the bacteria for leprosy I probably would have given it a crack .....

Here are photos of cats in Timms traps. I've had three in the last month using a chicken drumstick attached to a wooden jig. there is also a 40mm spike that kills the cat immediately. shifting the trap around seems to help also. 6 cats this month 3 in tunnels 3 in Timms.

I’ve been catching the young ones out playing silly buggers over the last 3 days. Not a very big target, but I think the Chinese CZ is dialled in. Attachment 262683
75 m zero that I somehow fluked. Attachment 262684
As you can see they aren’t all like that.
Had my Savage Mark 2 out as well on the left side. Could benefit from a trigger job and a scope clearer than looking through a dust storm.
