Thread: Any one from Hamilton going for a hunt in Taupo region tomorrow??

Same as the last rifle,, 243, find it very good bush hunting particularly for Sika Ended up at the Taupo range sited it in and helped another person there at same time.
As I was in Taupo and the day was nice I then went to one of to one of the well used forest park tracks for a quick walk with the rifle. hunted a couple of spots with out any luck as the wind was swirling from in front to behind and was reasonably strong. However when I was getting closer to the track after stalking half a km or so away from one of the tracks I came across a nice reasonably clear spot in amongst the thick pepper wood with a fresh scraping and a wallow fairly close by. it hadn't been used since the recent rain but indicates to me that the stags are still in the area.OVer the next month i will try to get back there for another proper look.
