Thread: Anyone using a Garmin inReach ?

We've been using them on The Hunters Club for the past few shoots, had a prototype unit with us in Fiordland for the liveaboard episode earlier this year. Absolute gamechangers, there's a few things they will no doubt improve on for the next iteration (touchscreen would be nice) but the freedom they provide to communicate to the outside world is terrific.

The cost isn't prohibitive, but you won't want to go willy nilly texting descriptions of your meals and how pretty the sunset is, as you'll chew through your monthly allocation fairly quickly doing that, but we think they're really going to disrupt the existing PLB market, such a big step up on that technology.
