    Big Bay / upper Pyke

Just thought I’d throw it out there and see if anyone is keen on a trip to Big Bay / Upper Pyke area to split costs. Planning on going for a week or so in October. Realise it’s a wee way off but will take some planning. If you can get to Invercargill airport can pick you up from there and provide a bed at either end if needed.
You’d probably need to allow for $1000-$1500 plus your food.
I’ve got plenty of gear here plus will take a sat phone. You’d want to be fit and enjoy the back country experience. If you haven’t shot many deer this could be your opportunity.
    PM if keen.

Fantastic bit of Enzed down there.Easy country or hard yards if you want to do it that way.Mite want to consider a collapsible w/bait net for a dip in the Awarua as you'll be there in the peak if the season.Big Bay Doc hut centrally sited for that blk.

Yes, fantastic bit of country down there. A lot of interesting history regarding deer recovery and mining exploration down there.

Noyce, plenty of log jams in the meandering mid Pyke from L Wilmot down to Alabaster strip but nothing to worry a pack raft, unless a recent jboat has cleared them with a powersaw following continual freshes

Is your partner balding, run a goatee and dress like a compost bin?

@Stag Did you miss the bit where it said you’d want to be fit and enjoy the back country experience?
