It was immediately after one of the lockdowns, supposedly no one had been in there for weeks. But the deer certainly didn’t behave like they’d had some time off.
Was certainly farking cold, big puddles 200mm deep frozen solid overnight.
You must have been the next party after us, we were the first ones in on the day it dropped to level 2? Had to stand around at helisika for 2 days first though while the powers that be tracked down whoever it was needed to give blessings to open the block again....

We found it pretty hard going as well compared to other years.

Wouldn't bother to stay in the biv u less I wanted to hunt the flats first and last light or get further down the valley.

Were you guys quite a big group?
We were two adults, two kids, I would guess in the 30 - 40 kg range, 3 rifles and modest bags/food. No tents, piss or coal and they claimed we were too heavy for the 500, had to take the big machine, and charged us extra. We get there and there was a group of 5 waiting to come out!

I was pissed off, Helisika are wankers, too many issues with them. I don’t even fly often with them, in the last few years, they completely forgot to come and get us and lost a booking, I’d made a year in advance
It’s cheaper to fly to the South Is and enjoy exponentially more country without their BS.

Real shame because they have some beautiful country tied up.
