    When I rung them up they said I was allowed to camp.

    Same, have run into day trampers in Black Gully. Is a nice walk from there to whiskey.

    I don't have my last permit lying around so I can't check the rule, but its usually on there....
    Like I say I've camped in the past, particularly on Smithys Spur. Its a good couple of hours walk to get to the good hunting, so not that practical for a day trip.

    Permit condition no.11 , you'd be brave to camp up there the amount of people running round with spotlights and thermals at night . If you do camp up there get well away from track and roads .

    Been in the forestry a few times and haven't run into anyone yet, it is winter I guess. Easier for me to hunt the western blocks being so close to Roxburgh, only 40mins away to black gully. Westwood-whiskey/brandy isn't in the 1080 drop either.
