    Oh fuck, then my pussy little .223 doesn't stand a chance then if a 25/06 can't kill deer? Please don't tell this stag he's not dead (scrubby Ruahine stag shot with a .223 with a 9.5" barrel, used this roar).



    May have to go to that other pub and have some fun :-)

    That's a cool little gun . What sort of speeds you get with a 9.5" barrel? What grain projectiles?

    Years ago I remember hunting goats with a friend using a Parker hale .2506 and it wouldn't put the aminals down. I remember thinking at the time that either the bil lets were going straight through or exploding on impact. As some have said it sounds like the right type of bullet is important to the success of this caliber, especially if lighter weight and travelling at 3400 fps.

    classic case of hitting them in wrong place or not matching load to targeted game.........
