Our DoC huts are a pretty uniquely Kiwi thing and should be treasured.
Respect others
Lots of hut are first come, first to get a bunk.
But be welcoming to others if it's over full.
I've had guys give up a bunk for me when the heard where I had come from that day.
Always leave the hut clean, tidy and with firewood if able.
Even if you are only out for a short hunt leave it tidy for if someone else arrives while you are out.
Always remember to blow out candles in the morning when you go out the door in the dark to hunt.
You can meet some great people in a DoC hut and many a lifelong friendship has happened by a random hut meeting over a few yarns.
Always use the hut book.
If you were over provisioned leave some behind ( sealed from rats and mice ) for anyone who might need it
