I often take my dog into areas where DOC allow it. She is an eye dog, very quiet and stays by my side all the time. This is a bit different to the situation you guys are talking about but what advice would you guys give to owners of legitimate dogs like me in areas where there may also be hunters? Or going by the fact DOC have given me a permit does that mean hunters would not be allowed there? (This is non-national park area).

No unless it is some special no hunting area like some water catchments.

They were doing more than trespassing if they had firearms with them and no permit ... They were breaking the law.

Specifically, you must have permission of the landowner or leasee in order to have a loaded firearm with you in this case , DOC.

If they didn't have a DOC permit to hunt then what they were doing is illegal. It's that simple.

Report the c-units to the cops.

Slowly but slowly these problems are starting to be addressed in different places, do your bit and report it, to the cops and doc, tell the cops you have informed doc, and doc you have informed the cops, at the least it helps them paint a picture of what's going on

Yup, report it to DOC and the police.

If you do nothing, don't expect things to change.

Noisy vehicles is one thing,at time you will almost hit them in your car on the way to some areas as they cross the road.

Dogs chasing them is another matter entirely.

I have never had anything like this occur to me on DOC land where there were no 4 wheel drive tracks, and it involved up hill walking for a few hours.

Sure, other people should have a bit of respect and there is no excuse. But the other side of it is, if you can, just avoid the pricks.

The further South from the top of the country you go, the less people you see.

Q? Has anyone thought of putting some lead into one of there "wild dogs" chasing thru your block?
Not an ideal solution on a poor dog! But is legal
