I did the same, much better buying a quality unit second hand then many of the entry level new

Vortex are worth looking at too.
Had an 800 m one which I busted by falling on it and they replaced it with a 1300m unit as the 800m had been discontinued.
Ranges out to 800m on reflectives and way beyond my self imposed 400m shot range.
