See I always knew those elusive buggers were still in Fiordland. Welcome to the forum alcesgigas. Toby, they are bigger than horses. I bloody near hit a large female going into Canada from the states in 2001.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.
What more do we need? If we are above ground and breathing the rest is up to us!

Take your best shot Dougie. I take the piss out of people often enough.

About 800 pounds, but I share the meat with others unable to hunt anymore, trade for red salmon fillets and strips, and make my favorite--moose spaghetti sauce--just plain divine. All but the first pic and the wagon w/meat & antlers photo I shot, dressed, carried, and butched alone. My wife comes up from Fairbanks to help, but she's smarter than me--clairvoyant too--she leaves the day before I shoot one. The last two years that's what happened, but next year I think I have a partner. He's 12 years younger than me and rarin' to go; been mighty helpful with the firewood and camp set-up. That's Brad in the first pic. Here's some more pics. I sure like this forum--how about some pics of those sambar and red deer?Name: Brad co-erector moose camp 9-6-10 b.jpg
