Tilly was winding so I snuck around the hill and popped my head over a side spur. I could see its head and shoulder, and not suspecting anything was wrong, shot it in the shoulder at about 20 yards.
Was very much alive and was standing when I shot it
It had a healed broken front shoulder so likely why it didn't clear the fence. And looking at its head the poor thing had had a tough life.
