Old work mate had a pic of a stag he was tracking up the Taipo valley back about 93-94. Knew it was there in the first trip and was also told about it by another hunter coming out.
Found it dead next trip in not many weeks later. Good size animal with small antlers, back leg caught in single loop of bush loire. Stretched right out with a large patch of scrub beaten down and ground all muddy. couple of steps backwards would've been free as.
