Fark I was thinking about it but not sure. Limited time and all that...might ask for a pass and see what I can do.

Keep an eye out for a couple of old codgers with a back crv. If the flats are like a full blown city we will be camping down by the ford or up totara stream Rd somewhere where we can keep the beer cold

Came back yesterday Arvo , too hot too many people and wanted to beat todays traffic .went to collect a trail cam but it was gone the risk you take I guess with placing them on public land. . undergrowth was like cornflakes. Camped by the ford , 3 blue ducks in that little stretch of the ongarue, not sure if they were reintroduced or have come back naturally first time I've seen blue ducks there in over 25 years

Things can go pear shape all right, was thinking of going myself , but thought no, to many in there at this time of year and very dry. So will be looking at going after Easter weekend some time when all is quite and a bit colder in my caravan for a five day look around. See if I can blood the Hawken and Sharps on some goats, love that goat curries, Cheers, Homebrew.357.

What's the 1080 situation there at the moment? haven't been in since the roar, the blue ducks have been there for at least the last 10 years that I have camped near the Ford.

Yea supposed to be open in April..... whose gonna be first to rock on up with a deer on his back for a shower and comfy bed? I'm sure they would make you welcome ......(seriously tho probably not as its a private enterprise not a doc hut)
