Judging by the range of comments I would say its the police. (full stop) case in point, page 1 post 2

I disagree with this, I dont think there is at all. There are some who object in some cases to Police procedure, but that is different to hating members of the Police. I would guess that as much as 99% here dont have any issue with members of the Police.

However. door-knocking or dick waving or revoking FAL (which police, as an organisation, are not fit and proper to administer) because of disagreement or dissent? Somewhere near the thin end of a fucking ugly wedge.
Those who hover near the edge of the wedge in regards to what is fit and proper do all LFOs a disservice, and to themselves a greater one. Those who go to the edge or the tipping point are the ones who aren't on the forum any more and/or have had a visit. Good job I say.

Was speaking to firearms officer today and he said that there was not much he could do re timeframes as they're prioritizing dealers over anything else, got quoted 4 months at least till they get to my C, It's already at 4 months so.... I'll be renewing 12 months from expiry it seems when that time comes.

i dont hate [thats a very strong word] the police but i do disagree strongly with their current operations in regard to firearms buyback and the way they police the gangs. They will have a lot of work to do to get the greater community back on their side for support

I did fail to mention that not all cops are scumbags. Just the pricks at the top mostly.
But there are plenty of frontline rambo wannabe's out there, usually with an ego to match.

I am just a hard done by civilian, who has lost respect for the police as a whole.
In saying that, I personally know some cops, and they seem normal and ok.

I like living life without oppressive laws and being told by a PC world what’s good or bad for me, I don’t like government in my life or manipulating others live. I enjoy my family, I contribute my taxes, but hate the way it is wasted and know right from wrong. I am content in my later years with what I’ve achieved. But I simply don’t care about the police anymore, my empathy for them has gone, they need some good strong leaders and stop being government puppets.

Agreed, its hard to feel empathy for them when driving home from work on thursday night I spotted 4-5 of them hiding behind trees at the local school bus park apparently trying to catch drivers out doing something wrong yet they seem to have problems doing things such as processing paperwork in a reasonable timefrme due to lack of "person power" ....................................are we supprised.....................sadly no!!

As a NZMSC firearms safety instructor, working out of a police station for 22 years, I was told by a friendly Arms Officer in 1984, that police generally felt there were "too many firearms out there, and they would do what they could to reduce the numbers"...be advised.

Did they also say there were to many cars out there and would do what they could to reduce the numbers? After all, nash compared guns to cars and claimed as we register cars, we should register guns.

Nash repeatedly demonstrated that he is a moron. I find it interesting that he didn't keep the police portfolio

Well some people dont mind destroying their own lives for the bigger picture of sucking off the public tit for the rest of their life and never having to do an honest days work in the private sector. And remember, he said EVERY person he spoke to supported what he did, so he is either fucking lonely or a good bullshit artist.

Now its cindys and the Christchurch mayors mate Potato to take her turn to do the job for the next 3 years, so she can do the same. And from her experience in the Chch council, she is a better bullshit artist than nash and should be watched with interest.
    Story goes like:
In the Chch elections a few years back she was running for Chch East, all candidates had to mention other positions they were going for and any conflicts of interest. It was revealed well into the voting period, she was also going for a position on Environment Canterbury which she hadnt declared. When bailed up about it, her words were along the lines of "I forgot". Of course being on the side of labour, nothing more was said or done about it. Absolute bullshit

I think they use Nash's super power of being a complete cunt where they need it. He's now minister of fucking over any surviving tourism related businesses.
