Thread: Print ID and Spiker fawn calling?

Deer or Pig Prints? Area has both in it with a spiker recently seen and a mob of pigs seen/shot recently. Prints were fresh from night before.

I would have said this one was a pig print,



5m up the track was this one that was More Deer?



Another question, I had let out a few roars sitting on a spur and something either snuck in or caught our wind bedded on scrubby supplejack and nikau bench, about 5mins later it sounded like a fawn call and again 15-20min later around the other side of us, would a spiker fawn call, it was a real yeeoolw... or something like that.

I’d be inclined to say the second print is deer, with another deer print below it but at a 90 degree angle. Pig prints will generally show the dew claw marks too.
