    You sporterised a brand new lee enfeild?
    I have had people get upset that I unwrapped one to shoot it.

    Sure did, cut a good chunk off the barrel as well, its for practical use not looking pretty and gathering dust.

    I'm guessing this wasn't recent, as you can sell a new one on grease for over a grand and can get a sportized one for under $100 on a good day.
