Thread: Spotting scope

Hi All,

Looking at a spotting scope. I would use it about once a year at this stage so later when i have time to do more hunting i would look at a good one. My question is has anyone brought one of the cheap ass ones off trade me?

The old saying you get what you pay for is true but as far as value for money is there any with these cheap ones?

I also see more expensive ones for sale that are a cheap ones just been rebranded and sold on so thought id ask the question.

Have a cheap barska 20-60*60 I think it is, pay postage and shout me a beer at the Toby shoot and it's yours?! It's got replaced a few weeks ago and haven't got round to putting it in the pay it forward.

It's good for unto about 40x then gets optically challenged. Good for finding holes in paper at 100m or seeing what boat is coming round the corner of them harbout

If you aren't going to use it much then consider one of the superzoom cameras. With my Canon SX-50 I can take a picture on 50x then look at the photo and zoom in the image on the screen. Detail is pretty good. Means I can carry one less item.
