Thread: Targeting stags over the winter

The red stags are feeding up big time over the next month, you will see plenty out in the open if the weather conditions are in their favour. A lot less pressure on them as the once-a-year wannabe wankers have all retreated back to suburbia and many serious hunters are switching to ducks & pheasants for the next month.
Shooting for meat [stag] is a waste of time till the condition builds up, good for heads though.

I have never been able to imitate a Sika stag so I rely on using a bleater that is somewhere near the sound of a hind or fawn...those stags cant help themselves, they just got to come for a look...admittedly I have never shot a decent Sika stag, so may only work on the younger one's.
