    Taupo goats

    Are there any reasonably easy to get to goat populations around Taupo? Im taking a guy who just got his 1st rifle and is gonna try get in to hunting to the Taupo range over the holidays to show him how to shoot his rifle etc (he is very green). Was thinking take him out afterwards to have a crack at a goat, all my spots are around hamilton and king country. Thinking taking him for a sika might be a bit hard for a new fella.
    If you can't kill it with bullets, dont f*ck with it.

    He is Napier based, hence meeting him on Taupo

    Napier certainly has a lot more goats than Taupo.

    From Taupo its really 2 hours driving north, west or east to get into decent goat country. Don't think they like our cold.

    Cheers for the feedback all, i guess we chasing deer then. or im driving to Napier which is not a bad idea anyway seeing as i have time
