    Upper Hunter river info

    Gday,

Can anyone PM me about some info regarding the upper hunter e.g bull flat/ ferguson area. Looks decent to explore on jetboat.

Wondering about the usual things, access, animal numbers, any Tahr etc

    Cheers

You need to check when Jetboat access is allowed, can be quite windy on the lake. Magic valley

You can boat up during the roar I think (best double check). Good river to boat when flow is ok. The top end of the lake is not nice if windy, it's a long run from the ramp to the river. Deer numbers low up there, but probably higher than normal at the moment given that venison prices are low. There are some good stags in the area. You'll also likely find a chamois or two if you climb high.
I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.

The Red Stag Timber lads did an episode on one of the blocks in there a couple series ago and still saw a few deer despite heavy waro at the time, my Dad took me on my first proper hunting trip up the Hunter 35yrs ago, fond memories.

Thanks for that yes it's ok for jetboating from the 22nd march through april by the looks with a temporary uplifting. If anyone can remember the red stag episode number and season that would be appreciated.
